amount of pressure on paul ryan to do exactly that. if you talk to people in the romney camp they believe the debate win by mitt romney last week was absolutely critical. this came after a month or so of just horrible press for romney gaffes on the campaign trail, unforced errors and this debate give them a silver lining and a path to get past those things. if paul ryan majorly flubs this debate tonight, that is not going to be a good thing for them. that could affect the polls in a way that the campaign does not want. >> bill: what do you of this attempt to soften mitt romney to the kinder gentler side? he tried that on abortion and then the house from the tea partiers and conservatives were so extreme that two days later he had to come back and say no no no i am pro-life. >> the romney campaign will tell you they don't believe he changed his position. paul ryan said he isn't disappointed from what he saw from his running mate and they have a unified position on this issue. whether you are changing your position or not. that's a problem that hits at the
